If you ever want to reset a pivot table back to it’s original, blank state, it’s easy to do. Just click a cell in the pivot table, and click the Clear menu, on the Options tab of the PivotTable Tools ribbon. Then select Clear All. All fields will be removed from the pivot table at once. Next go to the newly renamed Pivot Table sheet by clicking on it and place your cursor on wherever you want the Pivot Table to be created. As you can see in image below, the cusror is placed on Cell B3 and this is where our Pivot Table will show up. Click on Insert and then click on PivotTable.
To create two groups, execute the following steps. In the pivot table, select Apple and Banana.

Group Dates To create the pivot table below, instead of the Product field, add the Date field to the Rows area. The Date field contains many items. 1/6/2016, 1/7/2016, 1/8/2016, 1/10/2016, 1/11/2016, etc.
To group these dates by quarters, execute the following steps. Click any cell inside the column with dates. Right click and click on Group.
Select Quarters and click OK. Note: also see the options to group by seconds, minutes, hours, etc. Result: Conclusion: Quarter 2 is the best quarter.
